What started with just a few people has grown to an event where thousands attend.

Welcome to Grand Targhee Resort’s Summer of Music, which includes both the 11th Annual Targhee Music Fest and the 28th Annual Targhee Bluegrass Festival.

The Targhee Music Fest, which takes place July 17-19, will feature a variety of accomplished artists from Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers to Taj Mahal Trio, Mavis Staples to Good Old War, and much, much more.

A few short weeks later, the Targhee Bluegrass Festival, August 7-9, will welcome decades of experience to the stage in the form of Jim Lauderdale, Two Bit Franks, Tony Trischka, Blue Diamond Strings and many others.

“It’s not just about the music,” said Jennie White, Targhee’s marketing and social media manager. “Just make sure you are going to come and enjoy the outdoors.”

White said that if people stay for all three days and camp at the base of the mountain, then they will get the real experience of what these music festivals are about.

In addition to music and camping, Grand Targhee Resort offers miles and miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, as well as a scenic chairlift that takes riders up the mountain to breathtaking views.  Other activities available include disc golf, a climbing wall and EuroBungy, which is a trampoline hybrid.

Targhee will also provide The Kids Fun Zone with activities and crafts for children of any age.
