For the past 6 years, Justin Esplin has worked in the Student Affairs department at College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) and was recently promoted to Interim Director of Admissions. During the pandemic, he was instrumental in developing a virtual New Student Orientation, keeping CEI the only public institution in the state with consistent enrollment growth.
Esplin’s career began in juvenile probation where he supervised hundreds of youths navigating the legal system. While there, he spearheaded the creation of a teen anger-management class. After working in juvenile probation, he became an admissions counselor at Eastern Idaho Technical College (EITC).
Esplin grew up outside of Blackfoot. In college, Esplin earned an Associate of Applied Science in Machine Tool Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, both from Idaho State University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University.
Outside of work, Esplin regularly gets involved in community projects. He was recently the architect of the #FindFrankie campaign. At home, he loves spending time with his wife, Kristen, and their three kids, Lacy, Danica and Maddox.
