Pocatello, ID – The Idaho State University Kasiska Division of Health Sciences (KDHS) recently awarded Keri Knudson, RN of Portneuf Medical Center’s IV Therapy the KDHS Preceptor Award.
Students nominate their preceptors for this distinction based on a series of criteria, including evidence-based practice, leadership, honesty, communication, experience and knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration and a positive learning environment. Keri received a high ranking in each of these areas and was selected by the graduating cohort of May 2022 for the award.
“Keri is always willing to take students for their capstone project,” said Erin Sorenson, RN and clinical lead of Infusion Therapy/Vascular Access. “She invests a lot of time an energy into her students and is key in their learning and growth from nursing students to fully formed nurses.”
“Portneuf Medical Center is proud to have one of our nurses recognized by the ISU KDHS. As a teaching hospital, Portneuf is committed to raising the bar in healthcare while also raising the next generation of leaders and health care professionals,” said Portneuf CEO Jordan Herget.
