The vast array of outdoor recreation in East Idaho doesn’t end when the snow falls. It’s just the beginning for many. For winter hobby lovers, check out these four groomed trails located in Idaho Falls where you can walk, cross-country ski, snow skate and fat bike all winter long. All of the groomed trails are open from sun up to sun down during the week and weekends and are free to the public. 

Tautphaus Park Ski Trail

The Tautphaus Park Ski Trail surrounds the park in a loop and takes you on a scenic path. When the trees in the park are coated in snowflakes, the experience is something you won’t want to miss.

Golf by summer, cross-country ski by winter. Three of the four groomed trails can be found at these local golf courses:

Pinecrest Golf Course Trail

701 E Elva Street

Sand Creek Golf Course Trail

5200 S 25th E

Sage Lakes Golf Course Trail

100 E 65th N


Rules for Using Trails: 

 - Fat bikes and walkers stay to the right

 - Don’t cross-country ski on the bike/walking trail

 - Cross-country skis to the left

 - Don't walk or ride in the cross-country ski trail

 - Keep dogs from running on the trail (on the side in the deeper snow is perfect)

 - Clean up after your dogs  

 - Stay out of the middle of the trail
