IDAHO'S NUCLEAR FAME
THURSDAY, APRIL 25, 6 - 7PM
Experimental Breeder Reactor I (EBR-I) made history in 1951 when nuclear power lit four bulbs on a string. The building in which this achievement took place, however, was just as experimental as the reactor itself. Floor plans required modifications, details needed to change on the fly, and human ingenuity reshaped the EBR-I reactor building from a prototype to a working model. Join architectural historian Libby Cook as she explores the architectural oddities of EBR-I, in search of the human touch that made it the building it is today.

Lectures are about 40 minutes followed by Q&A session.
