What do Aladdin, Frozen, Anastasia, Lion King, An American Tail, Little Mermaid, and Rise of the Guardians all have in common? Nope, they are not ALL Disney movies. They are, however, all featured in Roger’s Revue, an annual benefit concert set for Jan. 29-30 at the Civic Auditorium.
Now in its second year, the concert supports high schools’ performing arts programs in the Idaho Falls area and features musicians from the Idaho Falls Symphony, the Teton Chamber Orchestra and the Idaho Brass Quintet.
According to show producer Roger Evans, the “Revue” is setting a new standard for theatrical presentations here in Idaho Falls. It is an entertaining spectacular showcase of musical genius sure to dazzle the entire family. Every ticket purchased helps support high-school performing arts programs such as orchestra, band, drama, choir and dance.
“With the challenges of funding, the performing arts are usually the first programs to see fewer dollars,” Evans said. “Music, dance, and theater teach students a multitude of skills that carry on throughout their lives. Students who participate in performing arts programs learn constructive criticism and use it to improve performances. They communicate ideas and find ways to make those ideas come to fruition. Learning Music, Dance, and Theater help build and solidify math and language skills, history lessons, and so much more”.
Tickets to the performance are available online at www.rogersrevue.org or by visiting Chesbro Music Company. For every ticket sold, money will be given to the high school program at the time of your purchase. Not only will you enjoy a spectacular performance of incredible song and dance, you will also directly assist the high school of your choice. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enjoy an evening with your whole family all while supporting your favorite high school. (Sponsorship opportunities are also available.)
Arrangements are sure to delight the young and the young at heart as the ensemble performs Emmy-award winning numbers from a number of beloved animated films. There will be dancing. There will be singing. There will be laughter.
We’ll see you at the Civic Jan. 29-30.
