FROM THE CITY OF IDAHO FALLS

IDAHO FALLS -- Out of 90,000 professionals worldwide, only 40 were selected to be honored as the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the waste and recycling industry. Jordan Rechenmacher, Idaho Falls’ Sanitation Superintendent will receive the Waste360 40 Under 40 Award during an awards ceremony in May.

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper states, “Jordan is easily one of the wisest managers we have in the city. He not only knows his profession well enough to lead and to innovate, he also knows his staff well. As a team, the sanitation division gets things done efficiently and effectively.”

According to Waste360, the 40 Under 40 Awards program recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in waste, recycling and organics has made a significant contribution to the industry. The winners are involved in every part of the waste and recycling industry, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recycling professionals, policymakers and product suppliers.

Chris Fredericksen, Idaho Falls Public Works Director states, “Since coming to work for the City of Idaho Falls in 2015 Jordan has proved himself as a very capable manager. Several significant changes have occurred in the past few years and Jordan has been instrumental in assuring successful outcomes of these endeavors. Jordan is confident, exhibits a ‘can do’ attitude and has a compelling work ethic to provide excellent service. Put all this together and you come away with an excellent manager – one that Public Works is very happy to have.”
