Craving an adventure close to home? Planning a day of fun and games can be intimidating, especially if you have a family with a wide variety of ages and needs. Add onto that the stress of trying to practice social distancing and care for your family and the task can seem too tiring. To ease the burden of planning a fun-filled day, IFM staff has compiled a simple itinerary to please thrill seekers and bookworms alike.

7 a.m. - Wake up! Rise and shine. It’s time for an adventure.

8 a.m. - Pick up your coffee or hot chocolate from Villa coffeehouse. Don’t forget to grab a delicious blueberry scone. 

9 a.m. - Take a few hours to explore the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park.

1 p.m. - Grab lunch at Sandpiper, Jakers Bar & Grill, Smokin Fins or another restaurant along the Snake River

2 p.m. - Drop by theMuseum of Idaho to escape the summer heat and visit their newest exhibit.

3 p.m. - Visit the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho. Admire the work of local artists and allow children to play in an interactive area.

4 p.m. - Drive over to Freeman Park and play a game of disc golf. Take a moment to pay your respects at the Vietnam Memorial. 

6 p.m. - Get dinner to go at one of many downtown options, including Pachangas, Snakebite, Cardamom and more. Take your dinner to the Riverwalk and relax to the sounds of the falls.

7 p.m. - Go for a stroll through the Japanese Gardens and cross the street for an evening view of the falls.

8 p.m. - Get some Orange Leaf to take home! Load your frozen yogurt with all of the toppings. You’ve more than earned it
