AMMON -- You won’t want to miss these two upcoming events taking place in the City of Ammon this fall. Both are free to participate and attend and draw hundreds of people each year.
Pumpkin Walk at McCowin Park
The basic idea of the Pumpkin Walk is to use pumpkins to create a display that is fun, spooky, or promotional. Registration deadline is Oct. 16. Displays may be set up beginning Thursday Oct. 22 through Saturday Oct. 24 by noon. Judging will take place at 1:00 p.m. that Saturday. Displays remain up through Halloween.
Prizes for school and non-schools are:
First Place- $250
Second Place- $150
Third Place- $100
Winter Light Parade
The parade will be taking place on Saturday Nov. 28 at 6:00 p.m. This is another fun event that gives local businesses and organizations an opportunity to promote while having lots of fun with a lit up float as people line up to watch along Sunnyside, Ammon Road, and 17th St.
Cash Prizes include:
Best Float- $400
Best use of lights- $300
Best non-profit- $300
Again, both events are free to enter and attend so they draw large crowds. It has been a tough year and this is a way to help end on a good note. If you have any questions please email rmiller@cityofammon.us or call 208-612-4041.
You can register for both events at cityofammon.us, then click “Register/Reserve.”
