IN THE FALL OF 2019, Randy Sebastian and his wife Julie set off on the first of many RV adventures. It was during this cross country trip that they saw it all—namely, they saw just what the states offer in terms of RV parks.
Most of the RV parks they experienced were just okay. Only a few were fantastic. Randy suspected he could bring something extra to the RV Park industry.
“We spent a lot of time in our RV on that trip, and we pulled into a lot of parks. We know what works and we know what we like. I knew we could make the RV Park experience more enjoyable,” Randy said.
About the same time, Randy’s daughter Kristina and son-inlaw Zach who were living in the Idaho Falls area came across a property that they thought would be a great opportunity for realizing this vision. No stranger to creating luxurious, high-end communities, Randy felt uniquely qualified to build a high-end luxury RV park while developing a business with his daughter and her family.
Randy has built hundreds of gorgeous homes and exquisite office spaces in his hometown of Portland, Ore. By combining his knowledge of high-end homes and experience on the road with Kristina’s construction management degree and local experience, the team has brought a one-of-a-kind luxury RV park to Idaho Falls.
The Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park is located off Yellowstone Highway where the old Sky-Vu Drive-in movie theater used to be. Randy says this is the perfect spot for road trippers to stay with their RVs because “everybody knows Idaho Falls is the gateway to adventure.”
Being located along the Snake River and so close to amazing outdoor wonders like Yellowstone, Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park really is a dream location for exploring the city and its surrounding natural landscape. It also doesn’t hurt that Idaho Falls offers a variety of great entertainment such as the rodeo, tournaments, traveling musical groups, art exhibits and so on.
The park holds 59 full hookup sites for campers. One of the most impressive aspects of the park is the massive size of the parking spots. The majority of sites are approximately 80 ft deep by 40 ft wide, leaving ample room for even the biggest recreational vehicles. Randy has considered everything so that RVs of all shapes and sizes can easily pull in and hook up. Even the shape and angle of the corners has been mapped out so there aren’t any sharp turns.
In addition to spots for RVs, the park is also proud to introduce Sprinterland. Sprinterland plays to the unique needs of those with smaller campers, teardrop trailers or Sprinter adventure vans. Each of the Sprinterland spots will have a casita-style covered shelter with outdoor heaters to take the chill off in the evenings along with built-in masonry charcoal barbecues. Campers will have access to luxurious tiled bathrooms complete with heated floors.
For those with Sprinters and RVs alike, the Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park is really setting themselves apart from other RV parks by providing full hookups, high-speed internet access and grounds secured by a passcode-protected gate into the property.
Luxury does not end with the campsites alone, though. The park is home to amazing amenities you simply won’t find anywhere else in Idaho Falls: direct access to the city’s wonderful paved River Walk, two pickleball courts and an off-leash dog park. Bike, SUP and kayak rentals will be added in the future.
Inside the park’s main building will be a convenience store with some of the essential camping supplies and unique items sourced from local businesses in Idaho Falls. These supplies will come in handy to use with the impressively large fireplace just outside the store. Randy and his team plan on using the fireplace to host “Random Fires of Kindness” where campers can gather together as a community to roast hot dogs and marshmallows and swap road trip stories.
All in all, Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park will be a pleasant surprise stop along the journey. From the beautiful landscaping and great amenities to the consciously laid-out parking spaces, Randy and his team are creating a fun camping experience that you won’t find anywhere else in the area.
The park opened to the public at the end of October. Let the fun begin!
