Bingham Healthcare is excited to announce the expansion of its services with the establishment of a tele-pharmacy in Pocatello and the introduction of ER Behavioral Health and Neurology Telemedicine at Bingham Memorial Hospital's emergency department. These initiatives are designed to enhance healthcare access and delivery for residents in the region, thanks to the generous financial support of The Hospital Cooperative. The Hospital Cooperative extended a grant of $111,000 to Bingham Healthcare to assist with these programs.

Tele-Pharmacy in Pocatello

Bingham Healthcare is launching a tele-pharmacy in Pocatello, to provide convenient and accessible pharmacy services to residents living in the Pocatello area. The tele-pharmacy will be at 1151 Hospital Way, on the second floor of an existing multi-specialty clinic. A pharmacist based in Blackfoot will oversee prescriptions through a state-of-the-art telecommunication system, ensuring that patients receive the same level of care and attention as they would in person. The Hospital Cooperative has provided financial support needed to renovate the space, cover network equipment, and internet costs. This initiative underscores the commitment of Bingham Healthcare and The Hospital Cooperative to making healthcare more accessible and convenient for the community, regardless of ability to pay.

ER Behavioral Health and Neurology Telemedicine

A telemedicine collaboration between Bingham Memorial Hospital and Eastern Idaho Medical Center is made possible, in part, through a grant from The Hospital Cooperative. The collaboration ensures that patients requiring behavioral health assessments and stroke consults receive timely and accurate treatments through virtual consultations. A virtual provider, operating at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, will be available on call to deliver expert assessments and consultations, facilitating prompt and effective care. This initiative will enhance patient outcomes, particularly for those experiencing acute behavioral health issues or stroke symptoms, by ensuring they receive the correct treatments without delay.

Facilitating healthcare services in a rural community comes with challenges. Regarding the grant from The Hospital Cooperative, Bingham Healthcare CEO, Jake Erickson, said, “We are grateful for the generous contributions that The Hospital Cooperative has made to our organization. The THC brings all the hospitals together into a regional collaboration that supports the advancement of healthcare services throughout the area.”
