The Shepherd’s Inn “Win the Whole Cow” fundraiser has kicked off for 2022.
Yes, you herd that right, you could win a whole cow! That’s a LOT of beef.
You can purchase tickets online at www.shepherdsinn.org or donate directly through their website. The raffle runs through October 31.
This fundraiser means a lot for this Idaho Falls based non-profit. For 24 years, the Shepherd’s Inn Pregnancy Support Center has been providing parenting and pregnancy support to young families in Eastern Idaho. With the mission of “Making a difference … two lives at a time,” their client-focused programs have equipped parents with the knowledge to navigate family life at any stage.
To continue providing these resources and programming, The Shepherd’s Inn hosts the annual Win the Whole Cow fundraiser. The Whole Cow Grand Prize is donated by Melaleuca’s founder and CEO, Frank Vandersloot, who purchases the cow from the Bonneville County 4H Fair. The beef is then processed at no charge by Thieman’s Meats. In addition to this grand prize (valued at over $4,000), those participating also have the chance to win other prize packages totaling more than $5,000.
And this year, for the first time in the history of the fundraiser, The Shepherd’s Inn is establishing a fundraising goal of $20,000. “Every year, my staff and I are amazed at the growing support of these young families,” said Julie Zahn, the executive director. “It’s truly because of this community support that we are able to bless the lives of so many.”
The Shepherd’s Inn provides programs that empower individuals by helping them create a parenting plan specific to their individual needs. These plans provide a supportive structure for parents, helping them find tools for their personal and family successes. The Shepherd's Inn also uses an Earn While You Learn program, providing vouchers to young parents as they complete their goals in the program. They can use these vouchers to purchase baby and personal items. These items are supplied through the thoughtful donations of sponsors and the community.
