ARTitorium on Broadway is celebrating a milestone birthday this summer, since it’s been ten years since the facility opened to the public in August, 2014!
This interactive arts center for families is located in downtown Idaho Falls. It has drop-in activities seven days a week as well as after school art classes, summer art camps, family programs, school field trips, and grab ‘n’ go take-home projects.
Originally conceived in the early 2000s, ARTitorium grew out of a desire to provide a casual and fun visual art experience for kids year-round. The Idaho Falls Arts Council has been running the popular Roaring Youth Jam arts festival every summer since 2002, but wanted a way to provide a similar kind of experience throughout the year.

ARTitorium was the answer, combining hands-on art activities similar to those at Youth Jam with unique digital experiences. The experience is constantly evolving as we upgrade technology and explore new ideas. Recent new additions include an Everbright – a giant, reimagined light bright with color changing dials – and a unique sensory room with a razzle dazzle marble wall, calming projections and a hurricane bubble tube.
To celebrate our birthday and as a thank you to all of our participants and supporters, we are throwing ourselves a huge 10th Birthday Party! This event will be on Saturday, July 13 and will be free for everyone. It will take place inside the ARTitorium as well as outside on Shoup Avenue.
We plan to have bounce houses, face painting, balloon twisting, princesses and superheroes, as well as birthday-themed art projects and birthday cake! We have really appreciated all of the support from the community over the last decade and want to give a little something back. ARTitorium would not be here without our amazing local supporters as well as all of the families who bring their kids to play and make art with us. We hope you can join us to celebrate our first ten fun-filled years!
In addition to our birthday party, this summer is packed with art programs for families.
We have weekly drop in performance and art classes for kids ages 5-9 over at the Willard Arts Center: Planet Glee every Tuesday and Planet Arts every Wednesday. ARTitorium offers 4-session morning art classes, week-long art camps, and one-time evening art classes for kids ages 5-12 throughout the summer. Our annual Roaring Youth Jam arts festival returns for its 23rd year and will take place August 8, 9, and 10 along the Idaho Falls River Walk. We love to see families at the weekly River Concert Series, too, which takes place every Tuesday evening on the Greenbelt Stage.
