In 2016, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes broke ground on the 85,463 square foot casino addition connected to the west side of the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Events Center, called Casino Expansion Phase II. Today, the Tribes and Casino Hotel staff celebrated the completion of this highly anticipated project.
At 11:00 am, the Official Opening Day Ceremony took place. The event featured speakers, traditional elements and a ribbon cutting with dancers and a drum group.
"With all of the ceremonial flourish, we officially opened the new Casino today," stated CEO of Gaming and Hotel Operations, Pamela Gallegos. "We are excited and very grateful for strong Tribal Council Leadership, a hardworking team and business partners who want to see us succeed."
The Celebration will continue on Feb. 23. The Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel invites the public to participate in the Grand Opening Celebration. During the day, multiple promotions, activities, entertainment and giveaways will be highlighted. Hot Seat drawings will begin at Noon, a free Vintage Vegas Tribute Show at 5 pm and topped off with a chance to win One Million Dollars starts at 8 pm.
The ribbon cutting on Feb. 13 featured Fort Hall Tribal Council Members, Casino Hotel Management and representatives of the construction project.
Along with the new casino floor, there is an addition to the north side of the Event Center, over 300 new parking spaces, a new Bingo Hall, Buffet and Lounge.
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes owns and operates three gaming properties including the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel, Sage Hill Casino and Travel Center and Bannock Peak Casino and Truck Stop. The Economic Growth Plan continues to evolve for the health and benefit of the Tribal membership and the Eastern Idaho Region.
